Our Story
About Chef Ron
Chef Ron Stewart’s culinary background started with his attendance at the esteemed Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY. Following his education there, he took his newly acquired skills abroad to grow as a professional. That led Chef Ron to a year-long apprenticeship at La Galleria Ristorante in the Netherlands.
Now confident in his craft, Chef Ron founded Mare Blu – an upscale Italian/Mediterranean restaurant and catering business. In true Chef Ron fashion, of course, that restaurant featured local, organic fare from Central California. Even early in his career, Chef Ron was committed to sustainability.
In the 7 years running his restaurant, Chef Ron received accolades from Gourmet Magazine and was featured on Sunset Magazine’s “Best of California.” It is certainly safe to say he had found success, which led him to be requested by a high-profile celebrity to become their private chef.
At this point in Chef Ron’s career, he proudly gained a reputation with Hollywood’s A-list. His culinary prowess has been personally requested by Josh Brolin, Diane Lane, and Barbara Streisand (to share a few names). He was also fortunate enough to host a weekly cooking show called “Secrets of Mare Blu,” where he was able to share his culinary passion with others in an entirely new way.
Recently, Chef Ron has served as a culinary consultant in the Pacific Northwest, where he has lent his culinary expertise to companies such as Tillamook Creamery and Bob’s Red Mill.
